Innermost The Hydrate Blend electrolyte box in Elderberry, 30 sachets, beside a glass of blue electrolyte drink

Some of the links in this article are affiliate links, which help fund our independent review work at no extra cost to you. Every recommendation is based on hands-on testing through The Editor Lab methodology. No brand pays to appear, and no placement is guaranteed.

The Hydrate Blend, sold as Innermost Hydrate, is a zero-sugar, stevia-sweetened electrolyte powder from Innermost, priced at £33.00 for 30 sachets. Each 4g sachet lists 200mg sodium, 200mg potassium, 100mg magnesium and 60mg calcium. The brand publishes no full ingredient list, and its page gives two different sodium and chloride figures.

Rank fifteen of twenty-two in our formulation-purity framework at best electrolytes UK: moderate minerals, zero sugar, a genuine stevia sweetener, but no way to check the label yourself, since the count is not published and the page contradicts its own numbers. That verdict comes from reading the panel against our framework, and every review we could verify, eleven on the brand's site, five readable outside it, with our testing standards set out in The Editor Lab. We reviewed the published label, the brand's own claims and every findable customer review, then compared the result against the other twenty-one brands in the framework, without tasting or using the product ourselves.

I built the formulation-purity framework this review runs on: ingredient count, published heavy-metal testing, sweetener quality, sugar load, named salt source, and a sachet check reserved for three brands I have opened. The Hydrate Blend fails the first test before the others start, since Innermost does not publish a full list, the same problem I solve at home running my drinking water through reverse osmosis and remineralising it myself. REPOWR, SULT and LMNT are the three I use myself, not Innermost, so this rests on the label and customer reviews alone; Balance Coffee, which I founded, sells no electrolyte product and has no relationship with Innermost.

Innermost Hydrate Review: The Short Answer

Innermost Hydrate is not a bad product: a competently formulated, zero-sugar sachet with a genuine stevia sweetener, sold by a London company trading as XXIV Limited for more than a decade. What it is not is verifiable, with no full ingredient list, no published heavy-metal test, no named salt source, and a page stating two different numbers for the same minerals.

That puts it at rank fifteen of twenty-two. If Boots, Selfridges or Ocado talked you into a sachet, none of this makes it dangerous to drink, but it does make your £33.00 a bet on a brand's word rather than a verified spec sheet.

What Innermost Publishes About The Hydrate Blend, And What It Does Not

Innermost lists 'Active Ingredients' per 4g sachet as Chloride (317mg), Magnesium (100mg), Potassium (200mg), Sodium (200mg), Calcium (60mg), Phosphorus (50mg), Zinc (3mg), Vitamin C (150mg) and Vitamin B12 (2.5µg), plus "a tiny amount of stevia". That is nine named actives, not a full list: you cannot count what a brand does not publish, so this review does not invent a number.

The same page contradicts its own table: a lower module lists Chloride (488mg), Sodium (225mg) and a paragraph on vitamin B6 and chromium absent above, one row reads 'Salt 581g', and 'Low Sugar' badges sit beside copy stating zero sugar.

Innermost states the product is free from all 14 major allergens and contains no artificial fillers, sweeteners or silica, true if stevia counts as natural. It claims batch testing but publishes no certificate of analysis, and does not appear in Informed Sport's own directory.

How The Hydrate Blend Scores On Formulation Purity

Run against the same six-point framework used in best electrolytes UK, here is where your £33.00 is verified, and where it is not.

CriterionInnermost The Hydrate BlendWhat That Means
Ingredient purityNot ratable, no full listNine actives named; the full formulation is not, so it cannot be scored.
Published heavy-metal testingNone foundClaims batch testing, no certificate of analysis, no Informed Sport listing.
Sweetener qualitySteviaMiddle tier: no sweetener scores highest, then stevia or monk fruit, then sucralose.
Sugar load0g per sachetClean, bar one 'Low Sugar' badge beside the zero-sugar copy.
Named salt sourceNot namedListed by element only, no provenance claim to interrogate.
Sachet usabilityNot ratedNot opened by our team; reserved for REPOWR, SULT and LMNT.

Published testing is the gap that matters most: a 2023 Mamavation investigation tested 40 electrolyte products and found detectable fluorine in nine. Innermost has not published a test of its own.

What The '5x More Hydrating Than Water' Claim Is Based On

Innermost's headline claim is that The Hydrate Blend is "scientifically formulated to deliver up to 5 times the hydrating power of water." Follow the reference links and they lead to papers on individual ingredients, sodium's role in fluid retention, magnesium's in cellular hydration, not a study measuring the blend against water at a 5x multiple. That gap is not unusual for the category, and it is not evidence for the number on the pack: until Innermost publishes the study behind '5x', treat the figure as marketing sitting on top of a genuinely functional formula.

What Customers Say

Innermost's own Judge.me widget shows eleven reviews, all five stars, a small base on a brand-controlled platform. Five were independently readable and verified this session; a pattern holds, people who disliked other powders for being too sweet or acidic like this one.

“Simple clear product. Does as intended.”
James BellisSw, Innermost on-site review
“I've tried so many powders and they have always either been too sweet or acidic. This Innermost blend is so drinkable with no after taste…”
James BellisCarolyn, Innermost on-site review
“Very nice and cool flavours”
James BellisManuel, Innermost on-site review
“...There all so nice & drinkable, but to me the Lemon & Mint is absolutely lush! So refreshing & enjoyable once you've got the mixture right.”
James BellisAndy, Innermost on-site review
“I notice a difference when I don't take them… they help so much with energy, hydration and overall feel-good.”

Trustpilot's rating for innermostglobal.com, the company rather than this product, sits at 3.1 from five reviews. Ocado lists 4.6 from 15 reviews on its own Hydrate Blend listing, the only independent retailer rating we could verify.

Can You Drink It Every Day?

For most healthy adults, yes, in the quantity on the label. A sachet delivers 200mg sodium and 200mg potassium against Public Health England's reference values of 2.4g sodium and 3,500mg potassium a day, magnesium at 100mg under a third of the 300mg (men) or 270mg (women) reference, and the NHS salt cap of 6g a day leaves this sachet a fraction of that. If you already reach for your morning coffee for the caffeine and fluid, an electrolyte sachet on top is additive, not a replacement.

What It Costs

£33.00 buys 30 sachets, £1.10 each, confirmed against Innermost's live product feed in GBP this session. Subscription drops that by 20%, no minimum term, to around 88p a sachet, all four flavours in stock at the same price. That sits at the premium end of the category, a price you accept for convenience and brand trust rather than a verified spec sheet: the full price comparison across all 22 ranked brands lives in best electrolytes UK.

Innermost Hydrate Vs Humantra Vs ViDrate Vs DR.VEGAN

Innermost is a London brand, trading as XXIV Limited since 2015, best known for protein and greens before it added hydration: its catalogue includes The Greens Blend, Innermost Protein, and The Rise Blend, a mushroom coffee outside this review's scope.

DR.VEGAN, three places higher at twelve, publishes a full ingredient list and sweetens with monk fruit. ViDrate, ranked thirteen, undercuts Innermost on price but carries far less sodium. Humantra, ranked seventeen, two below Innermost on the same shelf, runs nineteen ingredients against Innermost's nine, and neither publishes a heavy-metal test.

REPOWR, ranked first, is the full-label counterpoint: three ingredients, no sweetener, Oryx Desert Salt named and sourced. I use REPOWR myself when a short label is all that matters; if convenience matters more, Innermost still does the job. LMNT, the other brand I use, runs six ingredients and publishes the only per-lot heavy-metal result in the roundup.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the best electrolyte drink in the UK?

There is no single best electrolyte for everyone. Our ranking, best electrolytes UK, scores twenty-two brands on ingredient purity, published testing, sweetener quality, sugar load and named salt source. Innermost Hydrate ranks fifteenth, a workable everyday sachet rather than a formulation leader.

Is there a downside to drinking electrolytes?

For most healthy adults, no, at normal doses. Innermost Hydrate delivers 200mg sodium and 200mg potassium a sachet, well inside daily reference values. The real downside is treating a sachet as a food-and-water substitute, or trusting claims a label cannot back up.

Which is the healthiest electrolyte drink?

On formulation alone, the healthiest option has the fewest ingredients, a named and tested salt source, and no added sweetener. REPOWR, three ingredients and no sweetener, is the closest UK match. Innermost Hydrate uses a genuine stevia sweetener and zero sugar, but its unpublished ingredient count keeps it out of the top tier.

Is it okay to drink electrolyte water every day?

Yes, for most healthy adults, in normal quantities. Innermost Hydrate's 200mg sodium and 200mg potassium per sachet sit well within Public Health England's reference values. If you have a kidney condition or take medication affecting electrolyte balance, treat it as a GP conversation first.

Why shouldn't you drink electrolytes every day?

Daily use should follow need, not habit. Most people hydrated by ordinary food and drink do not need a daily sachet, and the NHS notes most adults get what they need from diet alone. Treat The Hydrate Blend as a tool for heat, exercise or illness, not a default.

How much sodium is in Innermost The Hydrate Blend?

The published nutrition panel lists 200mg sodium per 4g sachet. A separate module further down the same page states 225mg instead, a contradiction Innermost has not resolved. This review uses the 200mg figure from the primary nutrition table, the brand's stated official breakdown.

Does The Hydrate Blend contain sugar?

No. Innermost states 0g sugar per sachet consistently, sweetened instead with a small amount of stevia, a natural plant-based sweetener. One inconsistency worth flagging: the same page also displays a 'Low Sugar' badge beside the zero-sugar claim, language that does not match its own figure.

Is Innermost Hydrate Informed Sport certified?

No listing for Innermost appears in Informed Sport's own certified-brands directory, checked this session. Innermost states it batch tests every ingredient, but publishes no certificate of analysis. Informed Sport certification would also only screen for banned substances in sport, not general heavy-metal purity.

Where can I buy Innermost The Hydrate Blend in the UK?

Direct from Innermost's own site at £33.00 for 30 sachets, with a 20% subscription discount. It is also stocked at Boots, Selfridges, Ocado and Bodykind. Pricing and stock vary by retailer and flavour, so check the live listing before you buy.
